Questions: Breed? Bloodline? Please help. :)?

Thank author of this post/commentI barrel race, show in western pleasure, do highschool rodeos, reining, and ranch rodeos. I'm short, ADD, not easily scared, tomboy-ish, kinda happy go lucky, and right brained. I'm currently horse shopping and wondering what breed or bloodlines i should try to get... I dont mind a horse that is lil "spooky" or stubborn or has an attitude. I love a challenge! So i dont want an easily dead broke breed or bloodline. I need speed, stamina, and horse that can do anything it puts it mind to! I can overcome almost any problem a horse may have, im a big believer in its never too late and theres no such thing as a horse that cant be fixed! I would perfer a taller horse/breed/bloodline (over 14.3).So tell me what breed you think would best suit me and the things i do. Id really apreciate it! :)

As for me, I would rather go for quarter horses. They are typically nice and easy to breed. These kinds of horses are good at sprinting short distances. As a matter of fact it one of the most famous horses breeds in the United States. They are known to have powerful legs and active horses. If you are willing to purchase quarter horses, check this link for more information.

Hi there!

Yes, I agree with Marynor. I think that quarter horses are one of the best breeds of horses not just in the United States but also all over the world. They are indeed active horses and they got powerful legs good for sprinting short distances.

Thank you so much and have a great day to all!

I would go for a Shire horse breed. It is a draft horse with colors varying from black, gray and bay. The horse has both records for largest breed horse and tallest horse at all times.

Taming horses are really challenging. You need patience and strength while training it to become nice. I admire those people who could work on that. I'm glad that you chose horse breeding as your major activity. It's really worth.

As far as I know, draft horses are really not build for speed, though stamina and strength they have plenty of. They are like the elephants of the horse family, originally bred for pulling huge wagons full of beer barrels, thus their name, draft horses, from pulling the draft kegs. Since you defined yourself as ADD, a rather brave move, I would say, then you might want to try something with a little more spirit to match your character.
